Manitoba Extends Provincial Nominee Invitations to Skilled Workers and International Graduates
The province of Manitoba Extends Provincial Nominee Invitations through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), continuing efforts to attract skilled talent and support the integration of international graduates into the local workforce.
In the latest Expression of Interest (EOI) draw held on June 27, Manitoba invited a total of 126 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. This draw targeted individuals under key streams of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), reflecting the province’s ongoing commitment to aligning immigration with labour market needs.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream
A total of 101 invitations were issued under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category. Candidates selected under this stream had to meet specific eligibility requirements and demonstrate strong connections to Manitoba, often through current employment or past educational experience in the province. The minimum ranking score required in this category was 834.
International Education Stream
The draw also saw 19 invitations extended to candidates under the International Education Stream, which is tailored for recent graduates from Manitoba post-secondary institutions. This stream allows the province to retain talent trained locally, reinforcing its strategy to bridge education and employment for international students.
Skilled Workers Overseas Stream
An additional 6 candidates were invited under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream through a strategic recruitment initiative conducted outside of Canada. These invitations were based on direct engagement with Manitoba employers or recruitment missions, and applicants needed to have a minimum score of 718 to qualify.
Focus on Labour Market Needs
This latest draw underscores Manitoba’s strategic use of the PNP to address specific economic gaps and sectoral demands. By continuing to select candidates with strong ties to the province and relevant work experience or education, Manitoba is reinforcing its long-term population growth and economic stability goals.
Express Entry Candidates Included
Among the total invitations issued, 41 candidates had profiles in the federal Express Entry system. These individuals met the criteria under one of the MPNP’s categories and had submitted a separate Expression of Interest to Manitoba. A provincial nomination through MPNP significantly increases a candidate’s chances of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), adding 600 points to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
Manitoba’s Ongoing Immigration Commitment
Manitoba continues to be one of Canada’s most active provinces in leveraging the PNP to meet economic and demographic objectives. As the demand for skilled labour grows, especially in sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, and technology, the province is expected to maintain frequent draws targeting a diverse pool of candidates.
